Collin Murr, BA

My name is Collin Murr, and I’m a counseling graduate student from Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. I graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 2014 with a degree in writing, and at one time, I was in charge of a team of writers and editors at a large media company. After working at that job for some time, I realized I wanted to pursue a job that was helping people on a one-to-one basis. I gave it some serious thought and discussed with friends, and I realized that counseling was the way to go.

I currently attend Bellevue University, where I am pursuing my master’s degree in counseling. My counseling style is person-centered therapy, which focuses on qualities like empathy and unconditional positive regard. Previously, I interned at Laurel Life, where I worked with elementary and middle school students during the school day. After spending a lot of time studying counseling, I found it rewarding to finally be in the field. I am also a writer, editor, trivia host, and movie fan who is always looking for an obscure horror film I haven’t seen before.
