My Story
Shivonne has been practicing mental health counseling since 2018 in the Caribbean and is excited to extend her expertise to clients within Maryland. She holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Loyola University Maryland and is licensed as a Master Level Psychologist in both the Cayman Islands and Jamaica. She is also a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) in Maryland.
Shivonne takes an eclectic approach to counseling, drawing on techniques from a range of therapeutic modalities—including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Grief Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)—to address various mental health concerns.
Shivonne views therapy as a collaborative process and enjoys working with adolescents and adults. She has a particular interest in treating depression, anxiety, trauma, and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). Shivonne is EMDR trained and has completed training in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), an evidence-based treatment for OCD.
In addition to her clinical work, Shivonne was recently trained as a Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Instructor and will deliver Mental Health First Aid training to individuals in the Cayman Islands. She also serves on the Board of Directors of the Cayman Islands Psychological Association (CIPA).
Shivonne is passionate about helping others overcome their challenges so they can lead more fulfilling lives.
