Dumpster Fire, Side of Marshmallows

a gratitude group

Hosted by
Chelsea Goody, LCPC, LPC
Director & Therapist

A therapist-led gratitude group for people who want to notice more of the good without pretending the difficult parts of life are not there. There is no toxic positivity, no gratitude policing, and no expectation that participants turn painful experiences into lessons. The dumpster fire can be real. We are simply making room for the marshmallow too.

Group Goals

Notice

Notice small moments of comfort, connection, humor, beauty, and pleasure alongside life’s difficulties.

Linger

Explore gratitude, attention, savoring, appreciation, and what helps us through hard seasons.

Build

Practice becoming more available to the whole picture—dumpster fire and marshmallows included.

The wear-and-tear of being a person can train our attention toward what is wrong, threatening, disappointing, or unfinished. Over time, that negative filter can become automatic. This group is built around the idea that noticing the good often requires the same thing noticing the bad has had for years: practice.
